An access log is a detailed list of all the files that were accessed by the guests of a given website. Every single file that was requested for some reason will be listed, so if you have only one webpage with three embedded pictures, one video and one embedded text file, for instance, the access log shall contain a total of six entries - one for any of the six files which were accessed when the visitor opened the webpage. A log usually shows the file name and path, the date, in addition to the visitor’s Operating System, browser and IP address. Occasionally you can also find the referrer websites that sent the visitors to your site. The data which an access log file includes is in human-readable plain text format. It could be processed by special software on a PC and used to prepare reports on the efficiency of a website, aside from the web stats that your hosting server may have created.

Access Log Manager in Shared Website Hosting

When you opt for one of our shared website hosting plans, you'll get detailed access logs for your websites. Once you sign in to your Hepsia CP, you can check out the Access/Error Logs section where you will see a complete list of the domain names and subdomains you have added or created within the web hosting account. You'll only need to click on the On button, which is found on the right-hand side of each hostname and our cloud platform will start generating logs at once. To stop this feature, you'll have to follow the exact same steps and click on the Off button. The domains and subdomains can be managed individually and anytime. You will find a download link inside the Logs section of the CP for any log produced by our system, so that you can save the file to your computer system and view it or use it with some log processing software.

Access Log Manager in Semi-dedicated Hosting

Our advanced web hosting platform will generate access logs for every single website hosted inside a semi-dedicated server account, assuming that this feature is permitted. All domain names and subdomains that you have will be listed in the Access/Error Logs section of the Hepsia Control Panel, which we provide with all the accounts, so if you need our system to start producing logs for any of them, you should just click on the little button on the right side of the respective domain/subdomain and change the default Off option to On. You'll be able to deactivate this feature whenever you want by following the exact same steps. You will find a Download link for every single log inside the very same section of the CP, so you can easily save the content generated by our system in .txt format with no more than a click. An existing log file can be downloaded even after the feature has been deactivated, so you will still be able to see the data that has already been generated.
