.IT Domain Names

Established in 1987, Italy’s .IT country-code domain extension is quite popular both within the country and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for building inventive and catchy domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to have an easy-to-learn domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to come back to your website or to give it with coworkers and pals. The domain name extension can also be used for a website, which is linked to the technology sector because IT is an abbreviation, which is accepted around the world.

Since .IT domains are not provided directly by IT-NIC, the Registry organization that administrates this TLD, such a domain can be secured through a 3rd-party domain provider, such as ours. We will manage the registration process for you and take care of submitting your application to the Registry organization. You can book a dot IT domain for no more than 1 year at a time, and the domains are transferable, so you can move your existing domain over to our company and we will renew it after the transfer has been done. The only limitation is that the person obtaining such a domain needs to be situated in a country from the European Union.

Because there are existing 2nd-level Domains that include names of various regions and localities in Italy reserved for local 3rd-level registrations, new names that consist of geographical regions of any kind are not permitted on any level to avoid any future confusion. We do not offer such third-level domains, though, as they can be registered only by locals.
